  • How easy is it to get started?

    BILT for manufacturers is a web-based subscription service. Your consumers access instructions from our beautiful, free mobile app and you only pay for the people who actually use BILT to assemble your product.

    You can have your products in BILT in as little as 7 days! You send us your CAD files and we take care of the rest. Don’t have CAD files? We have a plan for that too. Just get in touch with us and we will guide you through everything.

  • Am I buying any software?

    No, BILT is a service you subscribe to. There are two fees: a production fee to convert your products into the BILT format, and a subscription fee.

  • How long does it take?

    It can take as little as 7 days if you have good quality CAD data. If not, it might take a bit longer to get everything going, but you’ll be glad you did!

  • What does it cost to subscribe to BILT?

    Companies pay a flat annual fee to have their products accessible in BILT in addition to a one-time production cost to create the BILT instructions.

  • How do I inform my customers about BILT instructions?

    The best way is to simply place an insert into your current paper instructions. We have a guide with sample messaging for your website and package inserts that you will receive once you sign up for BILT. We can also create a free video based on the BILT instructions that you can put on YouTube and your website. You can see some samples on our YouTube channel.

  • Can customers use BILT on the company website?

    No, BILT is a stand-alone application for mobile devices. For your consumer, one of BILT’s most useful features is the ability to interact with the product instructions through touch by rotating the product at whatever angle they need. This level of interaction is only achievable on mobile devices. BILT creates a consistently beautiful and user-friendly experience on phones and tablets.

  • Do I have to do all of my products at once or can I start small?

    You can start as small as you want. In fact, we encourage you to try it out with just a single product. Once you see what a revolutionary experience BILT creates for your customer, we’re confident that you’ll sign up for more!

  • Is there an implementation or installation process?

    BILT is wonderfully simple. There is no IT implementation or integration. All you do is provide us with your product information and we will create the instructions that go into BILT. We will review what we have created with you to make sure it’s an amazing experience.

  • Are there any technical dependencies?

    No. In fact, most of our customers are marketing executives since IT does not need to be involved at all.

  • I’m already creating YouTube videos!

    Great! Some customers even put their “how to” videos in BILT also. Unlike BILT instructions, YouTube videos cannot easily be updated and they are not interactive. So, while a video may give a great intro to your product, BILT can step in as a personal coach to guide your consumer throughout the installation process. If you want to continue to have videos on YouTube, we can make one for you for free based on the BILT instructions we make.

  • What CAD formats does BILT accept?

    BILT can accept more than 100 different CAD formats. We prefer 3D CAD.
